What is The Inside Project's process?

A Sales Consultant will visit your home and provide design advice & an initial quotation for the works.

Once you have accepted the quotation & paid the required deposit we will schedule a Building Inspection with a Project Manager & your Sales Consultant.

The Project Manager will assess the project area to ensure the quotation has covered all areas.  It is also your opportunity to add, remove or change anything you may have thought of since the initial visit.

Once the final quotation has been signed off a project start date is scheduled.

We will send you a Project Schedule that details the timeframe for the works & progress payment amounts / due dates.

The project then commences and soon you will have a beautiful new space for you to relax and enjoy!

How long will the renovation take?

A typical bathroom or kitchen renovation will take 3-4 weeks (depending on the materials selected).

We provide a project schedule prior to commencing the renovation which is a guide and may change throughout the project.

There will also be a period at the conclusion of the project for management of any defects that may occur.

Keep in mind a renovation can be an invasive process for some.  There can be many trades attending which will continue for the duration but keep your dream in mind.  At the conclusion you will have a beautiful new space for you to enjoy!

How messy is the renovation process?

We take all care required to cover the flooring in the thoroughfare to the renovation area.  You will need to cover or move any furniture in the adjoining areas for protection.

The renovation process can be dusty and you will find this does travel throughout other areas in your home.

Our quote will detail the cleaning being provided by The Inside Project.  This may be a “Construction Clean” which is conducted prior to the caulking to ensure any dust & debris is removed before to the silicone work being completed.

There may also be a final clean which occurs at the completion of the project but is limited to the renovation area.  We can also provide a complete house clean at the completion of the project at your request which is an additional service quoted.

Will the quotation change?

We aim to keep these changes to a minimum but changes to quoted price may occur if an unforseen item arises (such as rotted floor joists when flooring is removed).

You are also welcome to add items throughout the project if desired – these will also be in addition to the initial quoted price.

Can I specify the date on which I want the job to start?

We will do our best to accommodate your preferred start date which is generally 3 weeks after the building inspection.

Will I have a dedicated team looking after my project?

We will have a Project Manager & a Project Administrator dedicated to your project.

The Project Manager is responsible for all site works and can be contacted regarding any issues you may have with site related items.

The Project Administrator is responsible for all the admin functions of the project including invoicing, payments, schedules, variations & daily updates.
You will always be able to contact one of these team members during the business hours of 8:30am – 5pm.

Do I have to supply anything?

The quotation may be structured either with you supplying the fixtures & fittings, The Inside Project supplying these or a combination of the two.

If The Inside Project is supplying materials, fixtures or fittings they will be detailed on the quote.  If they are not detailed on the quotation then you are deemed responsible for these.

If you are supplying any fixtures, fittings or materials they need to be onsite at the project commencement.

If you are supplying tiles we will give you an estimate of the tile quantity required.  Please note that additional tiles may be required during the tiling process – this can be due to breakages when cutting or tile lay patterns.

For this reason it is a good idea to ensure the retailer does have additional stocks of the tile when purchasing.

You will also need to purchase the grout & caulk (silicone) to your colour preference to match the tiles.  The tile retailer will be able to assist you with the correct amounts of these to suit the tile quantities ordered.

When do I have to pay?

A deposit is required to secure our services.  Further progress payments are due throughout the project at certain milestones & the balance on completion

A project schedule will be sent to you prior to commencement that detail the payment amounts & due dates.

How can I pay?

Payments can be made via credit card, direct deposit, cash or bank cheque.

Is The Inside Project's work insured?

The Inside Project use licenced trades in the required areas (plumbing, electrical & waterproofing) & provide the relevant Certificates of Compliance at job completion.

We also provide the relevant Builders Warranty Insurance for all jobs where this is a requirement.

What should I do with my animals throughout the renovation?

As there are sometimes many trades attending it is essential your pets are secure and comfortable with strangers in the home.

If your yard is suitable they are more than welcome to stay in the home although if access to the house is through the pet’s area, it may be safer to re-house them for a few weeks to ensure they do not escape.

Do I need to be at home to let the trades in?

We can provide a key safe at your property for access throughout the project to keep the inconvenience to you at a minimum.

If you prefer you are welcome to let the trades in yourself although this is not required.
